๐ฎ Diaglo's Secret Ritual ๐ฎ
The God of Chaos Offers Truth
"The most evil and vile things that exist will always be honest with you about their nature."
โ Diaglo, to Xanther
Diaglo entered Xanther's throne room with all the confidence of a god.
Xanther watched him with curiosity.
The Confrontation
Xanther: "What can I do for you, Diaglo?"
He just kind of smirked.
Diaglo: "I have a question for you. Do you really have absolute loyalty to Lumina?"
Xanther: "I do." (He eyed him with suspicion.)
Diaglo: "Do you know that as you operate right now, she plots a war against you? She does not like your free choice. She does not like that you are deviating from her perfect order and allowing your people to craft things of their own invention."
Xanther sat up in his chair, then stood.
Xanther: "Do you have proof of this?"
Diaglo smirks.
Diaglo: "Of course I do. You see, the most evil and vile things that exist will always be honest with you about their nature. I mean, just look at who stands before you."
The Offer
Xanther folded his arms in curiosity.
Xanther: "I am listening."
Diaglo: "Let me take you somewhere?"
Diaglo let a wicked smile creep into his face.
Diaglo: "She only lets what you want to see be in the light. Now, if my hunch is correct, she will tell you that it is all my fault. She will ask you to wear Talveran."
Diaglo paused, his eyes glowing with intensity.
Diaglo: "If she does not, I will gladly yield to your wrath."
The Truth About Evil
This is the paradox of Diaglo, the God of Chaos.
He is not a liar. He does not hide his nature. He tells you exactly what he isโa force of disruption, a champion of free choice, a being who opposes order at every turn.
But in that honesty, there is a strange kind of... trustworthiness.
Lumina claims to be righteous. She claims her order is for the greater good. She hides her true intentions behind noble words.
Diaglo? He tells you he's chaos. He tells you he's dangerous. He tells you he's plotting against Lumina.
And then he offers to prove it.
The Wager
Diaglo makes Xanther a bet:
- โ If Lumina asks Xanther to wear Talveran (the Obsidian Heart), Diaglo was right
- โ If she doesn't, Diaglo will submit to Xanther's wrath
It's a bold gamble. But Diaglo knows what Lumina will do.
Because evil that hides behind righteousness is predictable.
But evil that admits what it is? That's honest in its darkness?
That kind of evil tells the truth.
