When do we decide, enough is enough? After someone we love dies? Or before? Do we wait till the world is on the brink of losing everything? Or do we take action before it gets that far?
So at this point I would like to introduce to you, Diaglo. Some warship him and his part in the war. But war is never pretty, it is never clean and it is never holy, regardless of its intent.
“Lumina, Your people are planning a revolution. I intend on helping them. You can not keep the level of control you wish without causing discord among your people.” Diaglo’s intense stare bore into her soul.
“Then I shall make them comply. I will not yield Diaglo. If you join them, then you will die with them them brother.” Lumina’s cosmic eyes shone with hunger for power.
“A war it is then sister. I shall see you on the other side.” Diaglo turned and left her throne room.
“I will find a way to make her see this is not right. That her excessive control is too much.” He walked out onto the balcony. He looked down at the crystal keep below. The castle was made from Quartz Crystal, aggressively polished till it shined.
“Diaglo, Are you going to approach him?” A female voice from behind him inquired.
“I fear that I must. But I do not want to , it is going to forever change him.”
“We won’t have a choice, unless of course, you want to keep living under her tyranny.” She crossed her arms.
He turned to her, “You are his wife, why would you encourage me to do taint his very soul with the magic of chaos? You will lose him to the madness inside. There is no rhyme or reason to the voices in my head demanding homage.”
“I know Diaglo, but it must be done. It is the only way, I will have this same answer when it comes to Felendor. Renaldo knows what he must do. Nexus Must be shattered for free choice to break the chains of her iron fist.”
He crossed his arms. “You really do not care do you? You are more cold hearted than I ever could be.”
She chuckles softly, “I am not plagued with such issues as ‘Loyalty’, ‘love,’ or dedication. I simply am here to do a job Dialgo. A job that no one else can or is willing to do.”
Diglo scowled. “I am going to make it my mission for you to become attached to humanity My Dear. You will see what it means to have attachment.”
She simply smirks. ” Is that so? Then I shall make it mine to make sure you cut every last string that ties you to humanity. You will become a monster, My Monster.”
A wicked express comes across his lips. “That sounds like fun. Let the Chaos Rise!”
They both laugh, “Well My Monster, Shall we go find Xanther?”
“We shall.”
Now where to begin our story? Does it start with the gods? Probably not, because the gods are not gods without pawns right? So perhaps we shall start this story with Xanther. Bless his soul, he is the biggest pawn of all the gods. Does he really even have free choice? Is his decisions just playing out a forced labyrinth created by all the gods? Perhaps we shall see if Xanther tries to defy his destiny. Can he reforge his path to what he wishes? Or must he follow his predestined path.
When we have trust in others, is it trust that they will be what we want them to be? Or do we trust that they will follow what their own nature dictates?
